Creativity > Time
Fred writes another stale retread of opinions and
facts stated thousands of times before by many other people
Being creative takes a darn huge amount of
time.
Last night, I took 2 hours to
draw 4 pictures, and ended up getting to bed late. Whether the pictures are
good or bad, very interesting or very boring, all kinds of creation take time.
Vast boat-loads of it. None of the pictures in question are for public
consumption (Alex, Kain & Tiff, Kim, and Kain, if you're interested) but
they are still there. It's amazing that anyone spends the amount of time they
do on being creative and why?
Even
though a few pictures weren't that interesting, they help me get practice, or
teach me the limits of working in a small box, or something. Sometimes, it
gives me a deeper appreciation for the characters, or I gain some insight into
their lives and minds.
But even writing
something like this is kind of difficult. Should I be drawing? Writing
stories? Or writing about drawing and
writing?
Choices.
