Page Notes
1/31/98
Whee!  I've started ANOTHER page!  In an effort to follow my current "minimalist" web page design, there are very few graphics and the index page should fit completely on the screen, even with lots of the toolbars open!  These pages were designed with 800 x 600 in mind.  24-bit colour is best.

Also, there are no "back" buttons, this time around.  Maybe later...

As for the colour scheme on these pages, I've decided to go against the typical dark-coloured pages and use simple while, like usual.  The links are in light colours, though.  What was I thinking?!  In fact, nearly everything's done in light colours.

What's with the version numbers on the front page?  Well, I decided to put that there so if you just wanted to peek at it to see if anything's been updated, you can tell.  (Provided you knew the previous version number.)  That's why they don't appear on any other page.

Why isn't there a link from Fred Duck's Nest to here?  Well, I'm not entirely sure how long I can keep this up.

According to my sources, every picture will start with "FDN" and adhere to the 8.3 naming system.

All pictures on this site should be original and not seen or used anywhere else, except perhaps for fdndda01.jpg.  But, we'll see about that.

Special thanks:  My English teacher.  If I hadn't been assigned to read Othello, I might not have been inspired to do this page.

2/6/98
Well, I tossed up a second picture.  I hope I don't decide to update every week! :)  There's also a somewhat new link.

And of course, we have a simple banner and logo.  As if you could miss them.  They're actually the same picture.  Hey, it may be blocky but at least it's small.  (672 bytes.)

We also have back/home buttons.  They look like this:
back
home
In most places, there won't be a home button.

A note about version numbers:  a new picture will up the number by a tenth.  A change in the interface will up it by a hundredth.  (Note:  interface changes change the date, too.)  Any less than that will result in an increase of a thousandth.

Today's thousandth was brought to you by the addition of a colon to the title of index.htm and the moving of the disclaimer to the bottom of this page.
All new pictures will be in progressive formats!
Well, that's it for this week.
I'm working on a title image but haven't come up with a satisfactory one yet.  I've pencilled the same picture twice but haven't gotten the proper angles down.  Sigh.  Maybe in a month, I'll have it? :\

2/13/98
I'm dividing entries with horizontal lines, now.  It was just too confusing before.

Today's thousandth:  colons were added to the rest of the titles and 16 links to CG sites were added.  The file size listed for fdnep2.jpg was corrected.  Gallery pictures and text links were centred.  "Gallery" added to Winter '97 Gallery title.

Today's hundredth:  I've noticed that Netscape 3.0 doesn't support coloured backgrounds on tables.  For these people, I apologize for not noticing earlier.  The link colour has been changed from white to light grey.  However, since this page was designed with Netscape Communicator 4.x, it'll look best in Netscape Communicator 4.x.
I'm trying to get the links page to show up in Shift-JIS encoding.  Please notify me if this didn't work properly!

About the tenth:  the picture fdnkain1.jpg may also appear elsewhere.  Let's see what happens.
The flag used in the background came "the Flag of the United States of America" web site.

In case anyone was wondering, the dates listed under the pictures are typically a date the picture was worked on.  However, they are specifically the posting date.
The colours used as the table backgrounds in the gallery signify the 'place' of the characters depicted.

I'm thinking of putting up monochrome sketches.  Hmm.  Maybe I'll briefly colour them first.

2/20/98
Two pictures this week!  I'm trying something new.  They're sketches.  I actually did them last week but I'm just putting them up now.  The colouring isn't supposed to be fabulous, I coloured each in about 5 minutes.
They're also 75% quality.  All the others are 100%.  I'm not sure If I'm lowering the quality on all pictures or just sketches.  Let's see.

(I completely forgot to colour Dawn's belt!  Stupid of me...)

While I like white backgrounds, I'm thinking a background image would be nice.  I wonder if I'll come up with a usable one.  What about the title graphic?  Eh...I haven't touched it.  I've been busy. :(

Today's thousandth was caused by a slight change in the disclaimer.

2/27/98
I know, I know.  It's cheating to put up a pencil sketch.
I've been busy (surprise!) and have come up with another possible title image.  I'll be better next week, okay?

Today's thousandth was caused by a slight file renaming.  One thumbnail had the wrong name!

3/6/98
An actual CG!  Yay.
Today, it's Jason, our favourite Zeroinian freeloader.  Let's see if I do Aeyar next week. :)

In other news, I've come up with another title CG.  This one's already inked, so it might go up next week.  Will it count as the CG of the week?  I don't know.

This thousandth was for three reasons:  One, another thumbnail changes its name.  That's the final change for the Winter '97 gallery.  Two, the blank! spot on the index changed to e-mail.  And three, the index has green instead of blue because it's spring! :)

Hmm.  The index looks a little TOO green.

3/13/98
We're back on another Friday the thirteenth.  It seems like just a month since the last one. :) There have been a lot of little changes this time around.

Tenth:
I'm only claiming Aeyar's pic as a tenth.  I tried to do a perspective but it's not very effective. :(  Jason was originally on the right but he was already half off the page so I just removed more of him.

Thousandth:
* Redid index page.  The title graphic will not be in the gallery until it is no longer the title.  At that point, a higher quality version will be put in.  Right now, it's a 75% Quality JPG and it shows.
* Added "Spring 1998" to Spring Gallery title.
* Shifted banner onto Links page.
* Added title CG.  Finally!  This is my fourth try.  I'm not sure if it's really qualified, other than its subject material.  And yes, that's Dusk.  Even *I* don't think it looks quite like her.  I should've been smart and given her a different shirt colour.
* Some of the CG links were removed, others added.

I'm thinking of making the site some icons for navigation, instead of just plain text.  But it's easy and simple this way.  Hmm.
Well, see you next week!

3/20/98
Just one new picture this week.  That's all.  Please read Miracle Stars when it comes out!  It should be in the next few months.

Currently, I'm working on Fred Duck's Nest, like I should be!  Specifically, I'm working on the Cosmic Fantasy Home Page.  I have 170 pictures I need to examine and decide whether to put up or not!  A lot of those are replacement pictures, though.

I'm probably going to put up a link from there to here, too.
Now I'm off to work.

3/27/98
A lot of work was done on the CFHP.  Check it out!  As a result, not much is going on in the CGA this week. :|

It's a rather simple picture of Tiffany Murry.  I don't know about that skin colour... :)
Hey!  We're almost up to the big 2.0x!  I wonder if I should do anything special...

4/3/98
Nope, nope.  Nothing terribly special this week.  I'm in the process of updating the WWWHpages, so there was little time to do anything with CGA again.  I shifted the index page around and added a link back to FDN on the index page.  I don't know if I'll keep the link on the links page or not.

Hmm.  There have been too many girls in the Gallery as of late. :) I think I'll do Al for next week.

Today's thousandth was caused by the disclaimer and the FDN link.

4/10/98
Ah, a tiring week.  I'm not quite done with the FDN pictures, so nothing interesting will happen here until I'm done with that. :(  I'll put up a new title soon, I hope.

As for this week's CG?  Who's Al?  I'm not sure yet.  His character is in the process of being overhauled.

Today's thousandth was caused by the links page's update.  I also corrected 'disclaimer' from last week. :)

4/17/98
Thanks to the miracles of stupid Photoshop compression, this week's CG is actually a 22.1MB PSD file.  However, it should only be about 6MB.  Anyway, the JPG is about 50% of the original size, if I remember correctly.  I rather like it, myself.

I tried some new approaches again:  the leaves and grass were mostly done with the stamp tool.  That explains the occasional horizontal line I failed to notice when doing the picture <G>.  (And I'm not wild about how the horizon turned out.)  Also, I didn't touch up the picture.  (Amazingly, I was very neat this time. :) )  Yes, I admit I usually tidy up stray lines or small scanning imperfections but this time, I scanned it in as 8-bit greyscale and let it be.

Sorry for neglecting this poor site!  The evil school is trying to keep me overly-busy!  (And is succeeding.)  In addition, I had some extra art to do for FDN (which wasn't hard to colour) and a couple of large files to colour for a different project.  Just as soon as I finish with FDN's update this week, I can settle down to work on a new Title!  Yay!

...
Um, shouldn't I have coloured the tongue?  Let's pretend that I did, okay?  (Argh.)

The thousandth:  a couple of extra links were added and the 'Plum' link was finally added.  (Oops.)

BTW, will I figure out if I want to capitalize "Title" or not?  Only time will tell.

4/24/98
Zzz.  Oops.  I'm rather tired.
This week wasn't extra-fun because I had to redo the files from last week's project!  Ah, what a tough life I lead. :)

Of course, as you could figure out, there's no new Title.  I wasn't very inspired in terms of Title CGs.  However, I have made some sketches for next week's CG, which might be Dawn again, if I can pull off the semi-complex picture.  (Semi-complex for me.)

Some notes about this week's CG:  It's Matt, a character without a last name.  (Seriously!)  He's supposed to be working on the Power Booster Suit.  I don't know about his arms...when I originally sketched them out, they looked much better.
The picture was also a bit light, so I corrected it using some odd Photoshop options.

Well, looking at the clock, I see it's actually 12:01a, 4/25/98.  Since I'm sure no one was dying to see this week's CG, I'm sure it's not a big deal. :)

This CG's really grainy!  I smeared the drawing as much as I could.
It was originally sketched on 4/7/98 but I left it alone until 4/23/98, when I touched it up and scanned it.  I tried to have his goggles hang down behind his head but that looked really odd.  So, I shifted them.  That left a ghost but I fixed that with the stamp tool.  In fact, I used Stamp a lot.  One of the lines on the PBS' internal joints was actually added in via Stamp. It's barely noticeable.
...
What a bland background!  I really don't think I like this picture at all.  It's just that I enjoyed having such a cluttered area that I knew I HAD to use it.  (That's as cluttered as I can do right now...)  If I had been an intelligent person, I would've cut off the dead space at the top.  No one really cares if there's a door there or what.  (Backgrounds are one of my particularly weak points.)

Well, I'd better upload this.
Zzz.

Oh, yeah!  Don't forget to check out FDN's World Wide WonderHam Pages.  There's more information about my characters over there.  (And then you can see that extra work I was busy with last week.)
